Photo Tours of Tuscany
September 15-22, 2018
Imagine walking among the cypress trees and ancient hill top towns of Tuscany, capturing the perfect light and angle in a photo…
I’m thrilled to announce that I will be partnering with Dallas-based Ecco La Cucina to offer a one week photo tour in my favorite part of Italy next year, the beautiful region of Tuscany. Join me for an unforgettable Italian experience as we explore medieval villages with their ancient narrow streets, walled castles, and spectacular rolling hills dotted with ancient villas and cypress trees. Learn about the culture and history of Tuscany while sampling the delicious foods and fine wines this region offers. Sharpen your photography skills while you enjoy the camaraderie of others with similar interests.
Ecco La Cucina is operated by sisters, Gina Stipo and Mary Stipo Potter. They specialize in culinary tours of Italy, so you can imagine how incredible our food and wine will be during our photo tours of Tuscany. While we won’t be making the food ourselves with chef Gina, we will be traveling with Mary as our location, food and wine expert. The sisters are renowned for their ability to guide off the beaten track to live like locals – wandering the open air markets, the tiny hill top villages, and enjoying the local food and wine.
This tour will have a fun balance of instruction, visits to wineries, gardens, markets and historical centers, and will include fabulous meals in tucked-away trattorias known by the locals for their cuisine. Each day, I’ll lead an instructional photo session for the group that will not only help you learn more about your camera’s capabilities, but will give you some creative insight into how to take gorgeous landscape photography like a professional. The level of instruction will be personalized to your level of experience – but no experience is necessary. We will guide you to the best spots to photograph even though almost every inch of Tuscany is picture-worthy. There will also be time for self-guided touring, shopping, and time on your own to spend as you please.
During our week, we will be based in the central area of Tuscany where picture perfect opportunities abound for your inspiration. The estate where we will be staying is an inspiration in itself with its cypress-lined drives, 17th-century homes, stone farmhouses, and olive groves. Accommodations are provided in an exquisite villa on the estate. Breakfast and dinner will be included while we’re together during the week with some optional lunch additions.
Each tour can accommodate ten guests of all levels of photographic experience. Non-photographers are also welcome.
