Congratulations! You’re having a baby. This is one of the most exciting experiences of your life, and capturing the memories is a wonderful thing. At Miette Photography, I’m passionate about capturing the beauty of your loved ones with professional maternity and newborn photography. For 25 years, I’ve worked with infants, expecting mothers, and families to create custom luxury photographs. As a mother of two, I understand that safety is the first priority for new mothers, and I’ve trained with a NICU nurse to know how to carefully pose and position newborns. With a background in fashion and graphic design, I have an eye for the best use of color and light. Customers rave about how comfortable I make them feel, and how I can capture authentic photos of newborns and children. I’m interested in creating long-term client relationships. Many of my maternity ladies return with their newborns, and again when their baby is six month olds, a year, and older. This is one of the biggest joys of my work. I will help you before, during, and after your photoshoot to ensure the highest quality images. My style has been described as minimalist, and I don’t use a lot of props. This keeps the focus where it should be: on your baby or you.

The Best Time for Photos

I recommend that expecting mothers schedule a photoshoot for their seventh or eighth month of pregnancy. This is when the belly is full and round, but not too big to cause potential discomfort during the photoshoot. For newborns, the best time is from seven days to around three weeks.

The Best Place for Photos

Traditionally, people bring their newborns into my private studio where I can control of all lighting, temperature, and sound for your baby’s comfort. Check out my extensive portfolio for great examples of my newborn photography. Upon request, I can take photographs in the client’s home. This can be useful for family pictures where children will feel more comfortable there. During the pre-session consultation, I will assess the lighting and design of the home to optimize the coloring of the photos. For any questions or concerns about locations, please contact me!
