My name is Jayme Okerblom and I have over 25 years of experience with a background in high fashion and art photography. This helps me creates authentic, elegant photos that capture the emotion behind the picture. These are images that look as timeless in ten years as they do on the day you first see them.

My style has been described as minimalist because I believe in keeping the focus on the person in the frame. Too many props or gimmicks draw the eye away and distract from the feelings inherent in the scene. For newborn photography, I might use a soft, fuzzy blanket and a nubbly knitted cap. For maternity photography, that minimalism translates into complementary soft lighting, draped fabric, even semi-nude photos that highlight a woman’s beautiful and changing body.

Many North Dallas women come to me feeling insecure about their pregnant bodies, and I understand. I’m a mother of two myself. But I quickly help women feel at ease and empowered. I earn the trust of my clients and women who felt shy about posing for partially nude maternity photos end up feeling totally comfortable and loving their photos. One of my goals is to help women feel their most beautiful and truly “own it” during our time together.

When it comes to newborn photography, one major consideration is safety training. Some photographers pose babies in trendy ways that actually put the baby at risk. I studied under a NICU nurse, learning how to safely handle infants, especially their delicate necks and heads. As a mom and a child advocate, safety is absolutely my number one priority in every photo shoot.

I know you have a lot of choices in front of you. Almost any photographer you find can manage a few good pictures, but you deserve more than a handful. An experienced photographer will offer myriad looks and poses, and create high quality art with every picture. I provide at least 75 final images and all of them are keepers! A lot of my business comes from repeat clients because I deliver on my promise to create timeless photos that stand the test of time.
