The Best Time to Schedule Newborn Photography

The best time to book a photo session with me is while you are pregnant in the beginning of your third trimester, around month seven. I am usually booked two months out, so getting your name on the schedule early guarantees you a spot. When it comes to scheduling newborn photos, I am flexible since babies come in their own sweet time and often ignore due dates.

In most cases, parents will come in for newborn photo shoots when their babies are between five days and two weeks old. The time to bring your baby in depends on the kind of photo you want. Brand new babies that are one week old will be asleep for most of the photoshoot, but will be adorable while snoozing. Two to three-week-old babies are more alert, but if their eyes are open, they are likely to be crossed. It can be a challenge to capture an open-eyed newborn picture in general, but I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve.

The Best Time to Take Maternity Photos

Every pregnancy is different, so the ideal time to take maternity photos depends on your comfort and stamina. You want your belly to have a lovely, full shape, but you should still be able to stand in different poses without hurting or exhausting yourself. From 34 to 36 weeks, your belly will be round, beautiful, and will look great in photos.

I recommend that you treat yourself and make yourself feel pretty before the photo session. For some, that means a haircut, manicure, or massage. If you don’t have a favorite stylist, I can arrange for one to be at the photo shoot in my private studio. I will set apart a large window of time to do whatever it takes to make you feel assured, confident, and sexy. You will have time to try different outfits, accessories, and poses.
