Look at this one year shoot! If you have been keeping up with my blogs, you might remember him. I did a six-month shoot with this little guy not that long ago, and can I just say I didn’t think he could get any cuter… but here he is. Just sitting there being one of the cutest of all time.
One Year Session… Make it Special
Every mama out there knows about the importance of the one-year shoot. It is no secret that one year is a huge, huge milestone. But it is so hard to keep every session fresh, and exciting. Let’s be real, everyone goes to Pinterest and chooses the newest trend. Boom. Session complete. But one way to spice up the shoot is to bring in some new props and/or family members. So, for the little man, I brought in his big sister- which I love to do. It is always good to not only remember your newest nugget on their first birthday but to see where their siblings are at the same time. Every time you look at the shoot, you will remember this magical time in your life.
Classic- Get Messy to Get Clean!
With all that being said about spicing up your shoot, classic is classic for a reason. And… the “smash cake” is classic. It is fun for EVERYONE involved to watch your newest little being dig into their cake, and get messy. One way to do it differently is to bring in some fun balloons and to let your baby go to town finger painting with icing. It’s just too cute. Then, after your little’s icing bath, they can have a real bath! Another incredible, and simple way of bringing some cute character and props into your shoot.
