There is nothing quite like a first birthday session. Really, there is so much cuteness, between the cake smash and the tub, that it is hard to handle. Plus, it is fun for everyone to celebrate your little nugget’s first year of life. There are so many changes, and firsts, within the year that it is an achievement for everyone!
Cake Smash to Tub
As mentioned, it really is a massive celebration for everyone, not just your newest family member. It is definitely all about them, but you should be celebrating too. 😉 You really cannot do a first birthday session, without letting your kiddo dive headfirst into a cake. It just wouldn’t be right. Jayme does something super unique and follows up the cake smash with some tub shots. She has the cutest vintage tub that she breaks out, right as the icing looks like it might never go away. The tub shots are always a crowd-pleaser because kids are just adorable in the bath. Whether they hate it or love it, you will be obsessed with the shots that come out of it.
Bunny!
This adorable toddler was loving being snuggled up to that bunny. Can you blame her? One thing that is really great about using something like a stuffed animal as a prop in a session, is that they can easily be brought to other sessions. If you are a planner, then you can have it in your newborn shoot, and then bring it into all of the other sessions throughout your babe’s life. Then you have this fun and sentimental touch that you can see with your kiddo through the years. Who knows, maybe they will hold onto it and then their babies will have the same bunny in their photos.
