When soon-to-be parents contact me about a newborn session, they often ask me about baby photography poses. What will look cutest? How can we get the best photos? How many baby photography poses are there? What is the best way to even pose a newborn?

I’ve been doing this for almost 20 years. So I’ve got lots of ideas for baby photography poses that will make your little one look perfect for his or her newborn photoshoot. I also worked with a NICU nurse to learn how to safely handle and move newborns, so I’ll never do “stunt poses” that are risky.

For today, I’ve chosen a bunch of cute photos from a recent newborn photoshoot to show off different poses. There are pictures with mom and dad and pictures alone. Close-ups and whole-body shots. I also used different angles to capture the best part of a pose. The key is variety: your newborn photographer should choose lots of different poses and angles to make the most of your time together.

If you are expecting a baby this winter or spring, now is the time to book your photography session. Contact Miette Photography today to find out about different packages and newborn poses that will make you smile.
