This week, I’m sharing part one of a two-part series. First, the beautiful maternity photos from one Dallas family. Next week, the newborn photos. I love it when I can share these events with clients and follow their story from pre-baby to new family.
This mom-to-be chose a variety of types of shots for her maternity photos. We went high fashion with over-the-knee boots and a black shirt. We also went almost bare with sheer fabric that shows off her bump. And best of all, we included her husband in some of the photos. This is always a great decision because it shows the relationship of the two pre-baby and captures the sweetness of a dad-to-be. This guy was thrilled to be welcoming his child and it shows in their photos together.
A woman’s body changes so much during pregnancy. I like to wait for maternity photos until the belly is nice and round, but not uncomfortable. So around month seven and a half or early eight is a good time. A lot of women find that waiting longer brings swollen ankles and a general feeling of discomfort from being so full of baby. And I want all my clients to feel totally beautiful and sexy during our time together.
I encourage women to spend some time doing whatever makes them feel beautiful before their photo shoot. For some, that means getting a mani-pedi. Others get their hair professionally styled and makeup applied. I’ve even had some clients get a massage before our time together so they’ll be super relaxed. Whatever works to make you feel your best.
