When women contact me about maternity photos, I love to hear the stories about how they decided to become a mom, if they choose to share. Every one of my clients has a unique story to tell, and it’s part of how we decide on the look and feel the photos should have. There’s never a cookie-cutter formula.
For some women, they love a sexy, glam feel. Others want sporty and chic. Today, I’m sharing some fun and casual maternity photos from a recent session in my private central Dallas studio. This mom-to-be wanted a look that reflected cozy, comfortable style, something that reflects her personality.
It’s so important to me that my pregnant clients feel comfortable with every aspect of our time together. As a mom of two, I know how weird and awkward those nine months can be, especially toward the end. Being photographed can increase those feelings. So during my pre-shoot consultation with clients, we develop a rapport that extends to the actual photoshoot.
I pride myself on empowering my clients so they can totally own it and feel fabulous. Many of them rave about the experience. I think this is because I really listen and also provide a lot of encouragement. There’s no time limit or specific number of outfit changes, so we can try a lot of looks, see what feels the best. Many women find that after a little time “warming up,” they want to try some nude or semi-nude maternity photos, as well, with tasteful draping and soft lights.
