This was a favorite photo session of mine from last year. These kids are so adorable, and it’s always a lot of fun to work with them. I’ve done both of their newborn sessions, but this session with the two of them was so fun and hilarious. Plus, it is always fun to do a cake smash session.
It was a combo session where we were doing some Christmas portraits of the two of them, as well as a cake smash session to celebrate the little guy’s first birthday. I love the shots of the two of them with the lights, they look so sweet.
Big sister is such a ham and loved being in the spotlight. Of course, she had to show off some of her dance moves. Her younger brother was pretty easy-going except for a couple of small meltdowns, one of which Mom and I helped create by putting his cupcake juuuust out of reach. A bit cruel maybe, but we couldn’t help it. He looked like a tiny gangster… who was just so infuriated that he couldn’t reach his cake.
But he was thrilled when he finally got it, and proceeded to stuff himself accordingly. Meanwhile, Mom and I had to nearly tie up his sister to keep her from diving for the cake herself. Can’t blame a girl for trying, though.
