Here are some photos from a really fun, high-energy 1-year-old shoot. At first, this cute girl was very shy. She almost didn’t let me get any shots of her beautiful smile. But once she got more comfortable in her surroundings, she really started to let loose and have fun.

She was absolutely in love with the blue bench. Since it was just her size, she came to the conclusion that it was obviously hers now. She dragged it all over the room with her. I’m sure that if she’d been able to talk better, she would have made a very convincing argument as to why it needed to go home with her.

Sometimes 1-year-old shoots can be hectic because babies at this age are learning about their environment. They want to explore EVERYTHING. Their interests get peaked by anything within their site! Then they’re off looking at something else within seconds. In order for me to get a few good minutes per shot that we set up, it can take the efforts of all the adults on hand. We’re all keeping the baby within the shot, playing with toys or items that are given to them. And not having a meltdown when they can’t go off and explore another corner of the room. I’ll be honest, 1-year-old shoots involve quite a bit of chasing, sweating, pleading, and bribing.

But as a mom myself I can say (and I think all parents would agree) those really hectic days in those hectic first couple of years go by in a flash. Every one of them is worth it in the end.

Ok, enough sappiness.  🙂 Contact me if you are interested in scheduling a session with me.
