First birthday sessions are some of the most fun around. There is something so magical about a one-year-old, and how curious they are. They definitely make for some of the cutest shoots around. This one is no exception. This little girl is so stinkin’ cute, that we just had to share the shoot with you all.
Seasonal Touches
We have talked a lot about not going too “over-the-top” during sessions, and keeping it simple. Sometimes, that gets people’s brains moving in a way that they think it needs to be all white, everything the same color and boring. That is not the case! You can still have fun, without going too big. This shoot is an amazing example of that. Let’s say your kiddo was born in the spring, around Easter. Your personal touch can be bunnies, like in this session. Pastel pink romper with bunnies, and a stuffed bunny that is almost the same color. It is an adorable ode to the season that brought your little one to life, is darn cute, and won’t put your brain on overload when you look at the final pictures. This can definitely transfer to the other seasons! Keep an eye out around Christmas, because we have some newborn shoots with holiday touches that will melt your heart!
First Birthday = Cake Smash
Doing a cake smash at your baby’s first birthday shoot is a rite of passage. Every one-year-old deserves to live their sugar coma dreams and dive head-first into a cake. And, every parent of a one-year-old deserves to savor those pictures forever, and show them to whoever they want, and at any event they want (ahem wedding slideshows?). It is the cutest way to show off your nugget’s personality, and their reaction is always *chef’s kiss* amazing. Whether they love it or hate it, the final photos are ADORABLE. Screaming babies are pretty darn cute, especially when you can’t hear the screaming. You and your family will love them!
