Today, I’d like to share some photos from a favorite baby photoshoot in my Dallas studio. This newborn baby girl has a face that’s sooo perfect and her dimples kill! She was a great sleeper for our time together but gave us a few big smiles that you can see below. All babies are beautiful, but this newborn baby girl takes it to a new level.
This is the first child for these parents, and I remember well those wild few weeks. Everything is new and a little scary and beautiful and exhausting. For the moms, the hormonal changes alone will make it a rollercoaster ride. For both parents, getting used to the sleep (or lack of sleep) schedule and feeding is a big learning curve.
Most newborn photo shoots take place when the child is about a week old, still in the “sleepy baby” phase. This gives mom and dad a chance to get their bearings, as well as even just take a shower before we meet. I encourage both to be a part of the photo session, no matter how tired they may be. It’s a precious time, those first few weeks of a new family, and capturing it is never a decision I’ve had a client regret.
I also chose a mix of color and black-and-white newborn photography. I’ve found that my clients like have some of each. They capture emotion differently, and offer a different “look and feel.”
