Most newborns are sleepy little guys — they spend the majority of their photo session snoozing away. But today, I’m sharing pictures of a newborn boy who was surprisingly alert and smiley during our time together. He still got in some quality sleep, of course, and those moments made for sweet pictures, too.
This tiny baby, his mom, and dad spent some time with me in my Dallas studio for their photo session. Dad is a big sports fan, so we got in a shot of this newborn boy with a football, which is totally adorable. (Reminds me of a photo shoot I did for a football player’s newborn last year.)
Mom and dad were not only super involved in the session! But also decided to take part and have photos taken with their baby, a decision I applaud. I know it’s hard to imagine getting in front of a camera when your child is a few days old and you’re running on a few hours of sleep. But these make for precious memories of a very special time when you’ve gone from a couple to a family. I’ve never had a mom or dad regret their decision to be a part of a newborn photoshoot — in fact, many thank me for persuading them to join in the fun. (This is part of what we discuss in our consultation before the photoshoot.)
