Now that fall is here, everyone in Dallas wants to have their sessions outside. I definitely can’t blame them. Now that the sun is out, and the rain has passed (for now), it is hard to come inside. The only downside is the inconsistency of the weather – you never know what the weather will be like. But just because it’s a little cloudy, doesn’t mean you have to come right back inside. Overcast days can work great too!
It Doesn’t Have to be a Nature Walk
Deciding to do an outdoor family session is easy, but most people think it has to be a full-on nature walk. It does not have to be that at all. There are so many fun ways to do a session outside, without it being overly involved and time-consuming. I do sessions all over the Dallas/ Fort Worth area, and there are so many options. You can choose the vibe you want. If you want nature, we can do it. Maybe you want a more western-feel – Fort Worth. Deep Ellum, in Dallas, is perfect for a more urban feel. You have so many options, and I have years and years of experience to help you decide on the perfect location.
Kids Love Being Outside
Not only does taking the session outside create a beautiful ambiance, it is sometimes more comfortable for older kids than doing a studio session. Kids over the age of one are so much more themselves when we go for a session outside. The studio is foreign to them and can be confining and intimidating. When you put your kids in an outdoor session they are able to run and play and be themselves. There is always going to be a warming-up stage, but it is easier in an environment they know.
