In my house, there is rarely a silent moment when my kids are around. Between the obnoxiously loud toys and the screaming, as they argue with one another about what my armpits smell like (true story), there is generally a pretty consistent racket in the place during waking hours. Things are a little different once they’re asleep; then it’s sweet silence for me (except when Miette is snoring like a trucker.)

Photo sessions are another time when it’s a bit quieter. You’ll sometimes get your crying babies and family sessions are often a bit rowdy, especially when multiple toddlers are involved. But rarely do I get to listen to beautiful live music while doing a shoot. So a photo session for this talented young violinist was fun.

She’s recording a CD this winter, so she came in to get some portraits for the album artwork. I was blown away by how beautifully she played. It’s amazing to me that someone so young can master such a complicated instrument like the violin. I am not musically inclined whatsoever so the violin is way out of my league.

I wish her tons of success with the CD, and I can’t wait to see what she’ll do in the future. Enjoy these photos from her session, and be jealous you weren’t there to hear it. 🙂
