After you have picked a photographer and decided that they are the ones you trust for your session… you should definitely schedule a pre-session meeting. It is an important piece of the puzzle to make sure that your session goes smoothly and turns out exactly as you imagined it would.

What do you Want?

That is the biggest question of the day. Do your research before your pre-session meeting and be able to tell your photographer what you want out of your session. Are there things you HAVE to have? Or the exact opposite – things you cannot stand? Maybe you are not sure what you want but you definitely know what you don’t want! Make sure you have an idea of your goal and bring it up. This is the time to hash it out and get the conversation flowing. There are limitless options, as far as the direction to take your session. I can give you suggestions to help guide you during this meeting. Plus, we will get to know each other a little bit, and that will make the session run so much smoother.

Questions

Ask them! Ask all of your questions. It is easy to get lost when you have started the research to choose a photographer – which makes it easy to forget about the small details. How long will the session be? How long does it take to edit? And absolutely all the questions in the middle. It is my job to answer these and make you feel at ease. The day of the session should be fun, so the first meeting is where we should get all the business done.
