Ok, the flower pillow in this set isn’t necessarily supposed to be a peony, but it could definitely pass as a peony.

And in looking over the images for this post, I can’t help but think of this little girl as a tiny princess. Between her slight size – she’s 8 months old but is about the size of a 3-month-old – and big brown eyes. She reminds me a bit of a porcelain doll.  She has a rosy birthmark on her face that her mother opted to not have removed in the photos. It will disappear in time, so she wanted to keep it in the photo so she could remember it later.

I often see babies with various birthmarks. Some parents choose to have them edited out, most often when they’re present on the child’s face or arms, and usually when they’ll disappear or be removed later. This is just a personal preference for the parent, and I always ask before removing in photoshop.

Her brother joined her for part of the shoot. They’re seriously two of the most beautiful siblings I’ve ever photographed. He was such a sweetie with her, too, letting her pet and inspect him, while he gave her hugs and kisses. I’m trying to remember if my kids were ever so nice and kind to one another… Surely once sometime in the past 5 years or so?
