You probably have that friend who hates having their picture being taken. Even in this Age of Selfies, I have a couple friends who don’t even like to take quick group shots from a camera phone.  Well, I may have met the youngest person ever to be camera shy.

You’re probably thinking this was just an example of a baby being shy in general – a natural distrust and hesitation in front of a perfect stranger who’s got this weird mechanical apparatus attached to her face, and who’s coaxing her to play with toys that aren’t hers in a place that is not her home. That’s pretty typical behavior for lots of kids, at least at the start of a session.

But for this sweet girl, it was just the camera that seemed to do it. Prepping for a shot she was all giggles and smiles – point the camera at her, and bam! Serious baby face.

I was still able to coax a few smiles and a couple of mischievous candid shots that are just too charming for words.

Outside she had more fun and let a few smiles out as she got in the tub… and climbed back out… and got back in… ad infinitum. Lots of fun to be had by this important baby task.

But with all that baby exercise and watching out for the camera, she was tired by the end of the session and let us know it.

Time to go home, Mom.

NOW.
