I had a wonderful outdoor springtime shoot with this family of four the other day. The couple is very outdoorsy and wanted to express that in their family photos. So we went to this small pocket of outdoor beauty. The waterfall is man-made, and you could tell the place was kept crisp and manicured at all times, but overall, it still had that natural feel and was very, very beautiful. Added to that, the sky was overcast that day, which made for some great lighting and rich, green trees.
There were all sorts of little trails that the kids loved exploring. They had a blast playing on the bridge and walking around the water’s edge by the waterfall. So much to see and play with outside when you’re small! The little boy was excited to experience EVERYTHING, and his little sister had the most adorable expressions.
Sometimes it’s not easy to find a great natural outdoor location for photography in a place like Dallas. But places like this do exist if you know where to look! And springtime is an awesome time to do outdoor shoots with the kids because the weather is still coolish (for Texas, anyway). I’m filling up fast, but I have a couple of spots in May and June available. Contact me if you’re interested!
