When a new member of the family comes along, many parents choose to include older siblings in their newborn photo session, allowing big brothers and sisters to feel special and important. Plus, grabbing some adorable sibling photos to look back on for years to come.
I recently had the pleasure of welcoming this family into my studio for a combined sibling photos/ newborn photos session. The two older girls already had a clear affection and love for each other that was endearing to see (and, of course, they look so cute in their matching gold-and-white dresses, bows, and fancy shoes).
When I took sibling photos of the girls with their newborn brother, they were excited but gentle, wanting to hold him on their laps for a photo. You can see how proud they were.
The newborn photos of the baby boy captured lots of precious parts, from his tiny toes and sleepy eyes to pouty mouth and little fist. I chose black and white for several of them to create a timeless feel and accentuate the light and shadows.
Most parents will tell you, “It all goes by too fast when your children are young.” These sibling photos capture three little ones at a particular moment in time and I saw moments of great tenderness between them through the lens of my camera. I hope you enjoy.
