Lean into the Season
There are a lot of newborns born during the holiday season, and a lot of parents who aren’t sold on leaning into the time of year for newborn photos. Which, if you are hopping online and googling “Christmas Newborn Shoot” and seeing piles of wreaths, green and red… and honestly more Christmas than newborn… I get it. There is a balance that Jayme creates with the special touches of Christmas/ Holiday cheer, without being a novelty. You want to make sure your shoot shows off your kiddo, more than the time of year they were born in. This shoot is the PERFECT example of doing both. Adorable pictures to show off your newborn, and festive enough to be your holiday card photo you send out to family.
Newborn Props
Props. This is a hot topic in photography, but especially with newborns. There are a whole lot of Pinterest photographers out there that are weighing down their photos with stacks of props. Another one of Jayme’s superpowers is balance. She can take a prop or element that you love, and use it in a way that is timeless. Like with this nugget and the holiday theme, there are some gorgeous ornaments, sprigs of pine, Christmas trees and a cute little Santa hat. But, none of it takes your eye away from that gorgeous newborn we are all here to see!
