Today, I’m featuring some toddler photos from a repeat client. I’ve shot maternity photos for momnewborn photos, 6-month photos, and 1-year photos. I love watching this family grow from three to four, and seeing the boys get older and bigger. Babies change so much during the first few years of their lives. And, professional photography captures these milestone moments in time and create lasting memories. You can see some of my past photos of this family on the wall in the first photo below.

For this photoshoot, they chose to be in their Dallas home. This is an option that can highlight the living environment of the family and show off some comfortable kids in their favorite play areas. Something to keep in mind if you want a home shoot is the natural light: is there plenty of it? I bring some extra lights, but I need a naturally bright space to capture the best toddler photos.

Another thing to consider for an in-home photo shoot is where you want the pictures taken. We shot photos in the living room, master bedroom, kids’ room, bathroom, and backyard. Moving on to capturing a variety of moods and poses, including some adorable naked-toddler-in-the-bathtub shots. Because everyone was so comfortable in this environment, the toddler photos have an unposed feel and look like a slice of everyday life. This is exactly what mom and dad wanted for the look and feel of their session, as opposed to a studio session.

This child photography session was primarily for the younger boy, but we included everyone in the family. And  we even got some great sibling cuddles, too. I love to see older siblings and parents in the shots because it highlights the sweet relationships and family dynamics, too.

Are you interested in taking some toddler photos of your child? Contact me today to book a session — I’m accepting reservations into March and April.
