Fall is here! Which means that the family sessions are going to be happening all the time. I love the fall family sessions, and the excitement they bring. Getting all the kids outside, playing and making amazing memories. So much fun. Here are my Top 5 Tips for your Fall Family Session.

      Get Outside

This one is pretty obvious, but take advantage of the fall colors and the changing leaves while you can. It is one of the most beautiful times of the year and the perfect addition to a family session. Plus, kids are always more comfortable outside.

You Don’t Need to Match, But you do Need to Go

The infamous photos of families in white shirts and khaki’s on the beach, is not the look we are going for these days. It is really important for your family’s outfits to look great next to each other, without matching completely. Tie in certain colors or textures, but let every member’s personality shine through their outfits.

Let the Kids Run

Kids can get antsy posing for photos and standing still all day. One of the perks of doing your session outside is that your kids can run and get their jitters out in between shots. They will feel more like themselves, and the photos will be priceless.

Get Generations Involved

Family photos are always more fun when generations are involved. Grandma and Grandpa are incredible additions to your session. They will be some of the best pictures of the day, and the best ones to look back on when your kids are older. They will love it, just as much as you!

Relax

I know family photos can be stressful. Getting the kids ready, moving and looking nice throughout the day is a task. But you can only do so much, and once you are at your session it will all be great. Making it there is most of the battle, and I can handle the rest!
