Every family has its own special personality and unique vibe. Part of my interview process with every client involves talking about how they envision their session playing out what kind of pictures they hope to see, and what they want the “look and feel” to be. We work together to make that happen.

For this Dallas group, urban family photos were a perfect fit. This was a fun group of three sibling boys and their parents. We shot in front of Deep Ellum murals in downtown Dallas. Mom and dad liked the idea of public art as a backdrop, and taking their photos outdoors on a sunny day. Urban family photos are an eye-catching alternative to an afternoon in the park. In addition, it is something that captures the energy of the city.

The three boys were in various stages of pubescent attitude. However, they were super polite and fun. They had no problem goofing around when I asked them to, and we captured some photos that will make you laugh. I’m particularly fond of the photo of mom and dad looking onto their three boys. There is such adoration and pride beaming through.

Lots of parents are religious about taking newborn and toddler photos, but somehow forget to keep booking sessions as their kids get older. I’ve noticed this is particularly true of the parents of teenagers. And, it’s really a shame, because look how lovely it is to see the relationship between these three boys. There is something so great about capturing them in their adolescent glory. Mom and dad will blink and these three will suddenly be grown men. Most importantly, they’re going to love having these photos for years to come.
