Anyone who follows my blog regularly may notice some familiar faces in these newborn photos. This is a family I’ve photographed many times before, most recently for the mother’s maternity photos for her second child. Her firstborn son got the newborn, six month, and 1-year-old photo treatment, so they’re continuing the tradition for her second son as well. Even Grandma was there to get a shot in with her newest grandson.
It’s so interesting to me to watch how the families of my returning clients grow over the years. I love watching the features on their newborn faces gradually transition into child features. Those little features are echoes of their mom’s mouth or their dad’s eyes. There’s this little tiny dream inside of me that imagines the day when someone I photographed as a newborn might just return to me to have their own child’s newborn photos taken. Realistically, that’s pretty far off in the future. I’m pretty sure that will make me feel old as hell, so… I’m fine with that staying a dream for now. 🙂
