This happy in-home newborn session and sibling photoshoot took place at the family’s Austin lakehouse. Their open, bright house-made this in-home newborn session possible. And, the familiar surroundings made it easy on their baby girl. Like I mentioned last year, homes best suited for in-home photography have lots of windows that let in natural light. In addition open floor plans, and tall ceilings. The brighter, the better.

Another consideration is temperature. Newborns need to be kept quite warm, and natural light helps warm up the space. We kept things toasty at this Austin photoshoot so the baby could stay comfortable and sleepy.

Mom and dad were married in 2014 — check out mom’s bridal photos I took of her here to get a feel for her laid back, fun personality and beautiful smile. That happiness carried over into these photos of their newborn daughter, who joins her sweet, freckle-faced older brother. He’s 5 years old, the big man of the family, and thrilled to have a little sister.

Welcome to Austin, little love.
