What’s better than dozens of high quality shots of your newborn’s precious face? Photos that feature Mom and Dad, too! At Miette Photography, we have a soft spot for unique newborn photography with parents. If you’re considering booking a session in the new year, below are a few of our favorite outtakes.
Newborn Photos With Mom
It goes without saying that the bond between a mother and her newborn is like none other. The connection may happen instantly, or it might take a few days after delivery to recover from the bodily stress and connect with their baby. It might feel like second nature, or it could feel like learning a new language. Either way, a mother’s connection with their child—after they spent nine months in the womb—is unique. And it’s beautiful to capture in a photo.
The criss-cross hold, the cradle, and the cuddles shown below all convey tenderness and deep affection. If you’re a mom and you book a newborn session, consider including yourself in a few of the shots!
Newborn Photos With Dad
We’re shared before about the value of including your partner in maternity photos—and that goes for newborn shoots, too. When couples are expecting and the baby is born, a lot of the emphasis is on Mom. But dads play a key role in raising a newborn, too! It’s important for fathers to forge their own connection with their baby.
As you see in the photos below, it’s natural for dads to cradle their baby’s head and even show vulnerability through a forehead kiss or smile. Giving Dad a moment to shine with his child during the session will be worth it.
