A milk bath is such a gorgeous way to amp up your maternity session. A good number of expecting mama’s have questions surrounding milk bath logistics. I gotta say, I do not blame them. A milk bath is such a unique experience and there is a lot that goes into it. Here is a little insight into how a milk bath with Jayme would go!

Location?

This is one of those really rare circumstances where the shoot won’t happen in Jayme’s incredible studio. Typically the session will take place either at your house, or a hotel. The most important thing is that the location that you pick has a big, white tub! A window in the bathroom would be ideal, but not necessary. If you decide a hotel would work better than your home, then you will need to cover the hotel expenses. A really fun thing expecting mama’s will do is rent the hotel for one night and make a staycation out of it. You can have a mini babymoon with your hubs, or do a cute girls’ night with some of your closest ladies. Either way, if you go the hotel route, you can make the most out of your night and have a blast before or after the session.

Milk Bath Logistics

A few things you will need to know going into your session. To start, Jayme will do a consultation with you before your session. You guys will get a chance to talk about how the day will go, and plan out the variety of shots you would like. Hair, makeup, clothing, poses, hotels, and themes will all be worked out between the two of you. She will really help get things sorted and make sure you are feeling good about the shoot.

For the actual shoot day. Jayme will provide the milk, so you don’t need to worry about that at all. However, you will need to provide flowers. By picking your own flowers, you will have an opportunity to bring some personal meaning into the session. Take into consideration flowers that mean something to you! Pick a color theme, and grab a variety of shapes, and sizes in that color family. Then Jayme recommends grabbing at least one flower that is in a complementary or opposing color. Definitely stick to natural colors, and not dyed flowers. As well as flowers that will float face-up. A really great example is Gerber Daisy’s! Lastly, make sure and grab some greenery. Greenery adds some gorgeous depth and helps the flowers pop. If you grab bouquets, the greenery that is included is usually a great touch. If you would like to get some separate greenery, Jayme loves using Fern Leaves.

Bonus- You can even create the same setup for when the nugget in your belly makes their debut! Get a little baby milk bath action!
