Here is the newborn session that followed after last week’s maternity session post. It’s always especially fun to do shoots with returning clients from maternity sessions because I love to see the changes in Mom and Dad, and meet the little boy or girl that I photographed behind a belly just a couple months before. This is particularly fun with new parents, who tend to exude a mix of awe, wonder, and happy exhaustion.
There is apparently a Korean custom of hiring a special kind of nanny after the birth of a child. Not only does this nanny come to the house and help take care of the newborn, but she also helps take care of the new mom for up to a month.
Um, where was my newborn nanny?? I would have killed for that! I’m thinking we should petition for that to be added to mandatory healthcare coverage for new moms.
In the case of this beautiful client, that particular tradition seems to have paid off – she and baby were quite happy and content.
