I love that there are so many adorable newborn sessions to share right now. I have too many gorgeous babies come through my studio to not put them all on the blog. This baby was no exception. Their session turned out so incredibly, and I think that has a lot to do with their simple approach.
Keep it Simple
As a firm believer in “simple” being the key to a timeless session, I think this family nailed it. Not only were they an absolute joy, but they did not try to overdo it. I have mentioned before that what you wear in your session has a lot to do with the overall feel you end up getting in your final images. This group did a fantastic job by going for black and white. Especially when you are in a studio, there is just a level of striking boldness that comes from simplicity. I wrote a blog all about what to wear for sessions if you are looking for more ideas.
Studio and Props
I love doing studio sessions. The studio is such a great, safe place and it provides a world of comfort. Newborns need a lot more attention, and time, to get the right shot and bringing them into the studio is the way to go. Plus, in the studio, we can play around with less or more props. With this little guy, bringing out some of the props turned out amazing, and not overwhelming in the shot.
