Lately, we have been diving deep into how senior portraits have changed over the years. Let’s just say we are THANKFUL for the evolution of senior portraits. Jayme is really out here doing the work, and re-envisioning the senior portrait experience. As fun as the amazing photos are, we would really be missing an opportunity if we didn’t highlight some of the less-than-amazing senior portraits of the past.

Thankful for Change

As much as we love, and we mean LOVE, looking back on senior portraits from the past- there are a few trends we are pretty glad went out of style. Let’s be honest, there are only so many moody headshots the world can take. You know the ones… every student takes them, and they are all told to look off into the distance and “half-smile”. Yikes. Everyone has them for the yearbook, but we are glad they aren’t being sent out with announcements anymore.

Or, maybe, when you hear “dated senior portraits” you immediately think of the backdrops you lay in front of, where you suddenly are in a meadow or a library. You may have seen our guest blog a couple of weeks ago by our dear friend, Brenna. She graciously shared some of her senior photos where she made use of the studio backdrops. Definitely give that blog a look.

And, finally, we couldn’t leave out the ever-popular 80’s photos. You, and phantom you, just celebrating graduation. Pretty much enough said on that one, I think.

The Evolution of Senior Portraits

Jayme at Miette photography is re-envisioning the senior portrait experience bringing you a clean, modern take on senior images with a high fashion twist. She really wants your senior portraits to be timeless, and for them to be photos that you feel like yourself in. Also, photos that you will LOVE sharing with your family for years to come. Don’t let what senior photos traditionally are, keep you from having photos that you are proud of, and are confident with.
