I love seeing my clients’ families grow and change, and today I’m sharing a favorite Dallas family of five.
A while back, I shared the maternity photos of this mama when she was awaiting the arrival of her sweet twin boys. She looked stunningly beautiful. (Seriously, go look at her photos.) In addition to portraits of her and her perfect belly, she included her preschool-aged daughter and her husband. Which made the maternity session into a day of fun family photos, too. What a wonderful choice for this family — so many great pictures from which to choose.
A year later, we’ve got two towheaded boys on their first birthday and a happy big sis, along with smiling mom and dad. They arrived at my private central Dallas studio and we started with the family photos picturing everyone, as well as groupings. This session was actually part of a package plan for the boys. Their one-year photos, and we decided to use a circus theme and a cake smash. The results were just the cutest, especially when one boy fell in the giant box of animal crackers. He wasn’t happy, but we were all laughing.
Side note: You’ll find pins about a cake smash all over Pinterest. I encourage parents to bring those kinds of ideas to our pre-planning session. What might be a half-baked (pardon the pun) photo at home taken with a smartphone can turn into wonderful professional photos that really captures the memory, like below. These are the kind of photos mom and dad will put in the high school yearbook.
