“Sometimes the littlest things take up the most room in your heart.” — Winnie the Pooh
Pooh had it right with that quote. I think the biggest love many parents ever encounter is the total enchantment they feel for their child. It starts when the child is an infant, and babies are such nice ways to start people, as the saying goes. They’re tiny and totally adorable, especially when they’re snoozing. Which they do most of the time for the first few weeks.
Today, I’m sharing the darling baby girl photos from a recent client. This newborn girl spent most of our time together catching up on her beauty sleep. And she looked absolutely angelic. However, She did wake up and give us some wide-eyed cuteness. Especially when she was in her daddy’s arms (part of her waking up was peeing on dad, which was pretty funny. You can see the lead up to it happening in the photos below).
With a sleeping newborn, it’s important to offer a quiet location for the photo session. That’s one thing that sets me apart as a Dallas baby photographer: I have a private studio. There’s almost no noise in there, so everyone stays calmer.
Because newborns are such perfect subjects, I never feel the need to crowd the shots with lots of props. Keeping it simple and minimalist lets me put the focus on the details, like chubby cheeks, long lashes, and tiny toes. I see some infant photographers using tons of extras in their photos and I think it takes the eye away from the best part of the shot: the baby.
