The expressions this 3-week-old baby made during this session are great. You wouldn’t necessarily think it but even at 3 weeks old baby sleeping patterns are pretty different from their first two weeks. They don’t sleep quite so much or as deeply as they do in those first several days after being born so it is a bit harder to get them to sleep for a session. However, this little one was a great sleeper!

We had a good sleeper here, nonetheless, and we were able to get a number of great sleeping shots. We also got plenty with the little one gazing up at Mom and making faces for the camera which is the upside to not sleeping through the whole shoot as a brand-new newborn would.

This was a last-minute booking that we were able to work in due to another client moving their shoot. I usually stress to clients to book their newborn sessions about 6-8 weeks in advance, but thankfully everything worked out for us. We can’t guarantee that I’ll always have an opening, but parents should feel free to give me a call to ask about my schedule even if they are booking last minute. I always try to work newborns into my schedule even when it’s packed – you never know!
