Occasionally I do commercial photography in addition to baby, child, and family portraits. These are always fun because it’s a chance to do something different and learn about new things in this case, hat making.
The House of MacGregor is an amazing millinery in Oak Cliff. Cassandra MacGregor creates beautiful and highly sought-after hats using traditional millinery techniques. It’s incredible to me how different each hat looks, but she’s able to create unique looks using a variety of materials including fabric trim and different types of fascinators. Her derby hats apparently sell out months ahead of time.
The hat-making process is very interesting, and Cassandra is a true craftswoman, making each hat by hand. Her studio is cute too, with hats all over the walls and lots of bright colors.
