One of the best parts of being a DFW baby photographer is the interaction I get to have with the kids. Today, I’m sharing some positively adorable photos of a boy from my Dallas studio. This little guy was six months old and is a repeat client on a family plan for photos, including newborn photography and one-year baby photography.

This is such a magical age when they’re learning how to express themselves and interact with the world. They remind me of the joy of living and the beauty that is always available in small pleasures. It makes me think of a poem called Through Your Eyes by Suzanne Eichman:

Through your eyes I see the stars so bright, the moon, and the darkness of night.
I see butterflies and flowers that dance in the breeze.
I see the wind as it blows, and the leaves fall, the newness of snow, the glory of it all.
All of this so day to day, but through your eyes it all seems new. So when life starts to get me down, and things start to give me trouble…through your eyes I’ll look, my child.
For you see life like no other.

These photos actually required two sessions because we realized about 10 minutes into the first one that the little boy was pretty sick. Sometimes re-shoots happen, they are very rare, and it is usually with toddlers. Almost every time, it is because they are sick and mom didn’t know it.

When this baby came back for the second time, he was feeling much better and you can see how happy and cute he is. The toddler cowboy boots were perfect for the little red cowboy hat I had on hand. Grandma made the precious outfit with the suspenders and pageboy hat.
