We are cruising with the Senior Portrait blogs. There is just so so much to cover, and we want you o know exactly what to expect and be comfortable with Jayme and her process. That way you have no nerves and are just excited to have your session. So far we have had two guest blogs, one by our close friend Brenna, and the other by the amazing photographer of Miette, Jayme! We also looked back at the Evolution of Senior Photos and talked about how to style your session. Today we get to the big question, “What to Expect at a Senior Session.”
Consultation
One thing Jayme does, that really puts everyone’s mind at ease, is she always schedules a pre-shoot Consultation. This is important for so so many reasons. By taking the time to sit down with each other, it really takes away those “first-date jitters” that can come along with a photo session. Photoshoots are nerve-wracking, but I guaruntee that once you meet Jayme, your nerves will be gone. Making people comfortable is one of her many superpowers.
At your consultation, you will work with Jayme to decide a few things, and get a feel for your vision and how you guys can make it come to life. You will talk about location, whether you want to use her amazing private studio or have another location in mind. You will talk about what outfits will look amazing on camera (if you want a head start check out our blog about styling a senior session). Also, you will chat about hair and makeup, as well as finding some inspiration pictures together. That way you are both seeing the same ideas.
Expression and What to Expect
What you really need to know about a senior session with Jayme is that it is all about expression. She wants, more than anything, for your senior’s personality to shine. She wants your senior to be the Creative Director of their own photoshoot, and to show off their unique style, personality and ideas. Once you all get to your location on shoot-day, just know you are all going to have an absolute blast, and the photos will show off everything you love about your senior.
